Hikes and Rides

The Loire Valley and its architecture are marked by rivers and the tuffeau stone, this very clear limestone. There are many ways to discover this region.

Cycling Loire is a long cycling trail along the river Loire, allowing to enjoy its landscapes and chateaux in an different way. Azay-le-Rideau is located on a loop of Cycling Loire, and also on Cycling Indre, the trail along the idyllic Indre river, and on five local loops. You can ride to Langeais, Chinon, Villandry, Chenonceau, or even Loches. Bikes can be rented close to the hotel.

Do you prefer walking? Azay-le-Rideau is part of the regional natural park. In this protected environment, hikes are a great way to dicover the local flora and wildlife.

The Loire, its light, its rivers, its inhabited isles, its architectural heritage, are remarkable and have contributed to having it listed to the UNESCO’s world heritage.
