Winemaking is rooted in the tradition of the Loire Valley. Cellars, dug in the tuffeau stone, are spread all along the valleys. Red, white, or rosé, still or sparkling, dry or sweet, made from different grapes, the diversity of the Loire Valley wines has no match.
Chinon, Bourgueil, or Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil are recognised red wines. The main grape is Cabernet franc, but Gamay and Cot – or Malbec – and Cabernet sauvignon are also planted.
Our valley is also known for its white wines. They are suitable for every taste, every desire. Syrupy or sweet for the aperitif, dry or semi-dry and even sparkling, are very appreciated in every occasion. They are made from Chenin or Sauvignon grapes. In the Touraine area, the elegant sparkling Vouvray will be of every party!
